WOWnature and Arbolia

We are putting words into action

We have also shown our commitment to the environment through support for two important forestry initiatives in Italy in collaboration with WOWnature (project of Etifor, a spin-off company of the University of Padua) and Arbolia (benefit company of Snam and CDP Foundation).

Christmas 2021

At Christmas, thanks to a partnership with WOWnature, we donated a tree to each employee to mitigate and lower CO2emissions in the atmosphere. We are talking about almost 1900 trees to be planted next spring in the Brenta River Park and the Oglio Sud Regional Park that extends along the lower waterway of the Oglio, from the Mella river to the mouth of the Po in the province of Cremona.

The Bank has undertaken to look after and maintain the trees for three years.

Forestami

The other important forestation initiative was launched by the Municipality of Milan in collaboration with Arbolia. Forestami is a project that aims to increase natural capital and plant 3 million new trees in Milan and the metropolitan city by 2030. The initiative will involve the development of new green areas near the motorway junctions in the metropolitan city of Milan.

We will contribute to the project by planting 350 indigenous tree species, to help recreate new green spaces.
